What Are Templates on WeSignature?

Templates in WeSignature help you save time when sending the same document for e-signature repeatedly. If you frequently send contracts, agreements, or other standardized documents, templates ensure all required fields—such as signature, date, name, and initials—are pre-placed in the correct spots.

How Do Templates Work?

When creating a template, you’ll:

  1. Upload your document – Choose the file you want to turn into a reusable template and upload it to the "Template" section in WeSignature.
  2. Drag and drop signature fields – Place signature, date, initials, and other necessary fields in their proper locations.
  3. Save the template – Once set up, the template is stored in your WeSignature account.
  4. Use the template when sending a document – When you are sending out the document that corresponds with the template you built, select your saved template, and WeSignature will automatically apply the pre-mapped fields, so you don’t have to manually add them every time.

Templates are perfect for documents where the layout remains consistent while the signers change.
